Türkiye's First Intercontinental Ballistic Missile 'Yıldırımhan' Unveiled

Türkiye's first intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), the Yıldırımhan, was unveiled to the public on 5 May 2026 at the SAHA 2026 International Defence, Aerospace and Space Industry Exhibition in Istanbul.
Developed by the R&D centre of the Turkish Ministry of National Defence, the missile is reported to feature a range exceeding 6,000 km, a payload capacity of approximately 3,000 kg, and a speed range between Mach 9 and Mach 25 — making it the longest-range system in the country's inventory.
Following short- and medium-range systems such as the J-600T Yıldırım, Bora and Tayfun, the Yıldırımhan represents a new level reached by the Turkish defence industry in deterrence and long-range strike capability.
